Kiss of the Earth
Shakespeare's legacy. Stravinsky's masterpiece. Romeo and Juliet like you have never seen before.
Concert Theatre presents a breathtaking fusion of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring. With a cast of five Lecoq-trained actors and classical pianists from Royal Academy of Music, the two classic tales collide with stirring music and mesmerising physical theatre.
The audience embark on a journey of wordless storytelling expertly animated through commedia half masks. The heart-felt melodies of The Rite of Spring set Shakespeare’s star-crossed lovers against the pounding, barbaric rhythms of the deadly feud between Montagues and Capulets. Every movement, every dissonance, and every silence heightens the tragic fate of the young lovers.
Kiss of the Earth kicks off its 2015 UK tour soon, with the following February dates:
4th-7th February: The Cockpit Theatre, London
22nd February: Greenwich Theatre, London
28th February: Stratford Arts House, Stratford-Upon-Avon
